Obituary

          Christine Mary Roman of Armada Township died Monday, June 4, 2012 at the age of 94 years.

          Christine was born May 14, 1918 in Vermillion, South Dakota, a daughter of Alex and Florence (nee Conran) Doohen.  On November 11, 1943, Christine married Roman A. Roman at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit.  Christine was a fervent supporter of the traditional Roman Catholic Church.  She was an early naturalist and an organic gardener.  Christine was a beloved wife, a dear mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed.

          She is survived by her husband, Roman A.; sons, Thomas Roman of Armada Township, Christopher Roman of Sterling Heights and Paul (Karen) Roman of Macomb Township; daughter, Mary E. Stutler of Fort Wright, Kentucky; grandchildren, Christopher Ian Roman, Katie Stutler, Mitchell Stutler, Nicholas Stutler and Kurtis Roman; and great-grandchildren, Leanna Roman and Sierra Swift.  Christine was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Alex, Donald and Patrick Doohen; and sisters, Margaret, Florence, Dorothy, Eleanor, Evelyn and Katherine.

          A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at St. Mary Mystical Rose Catholic Church, 24040  Armada Ridge   Road, Armada with the Rev. Christopher Talbot, celebrant.  Burial will follow in West Berlin Cemetery, Berlin Township.

          Visitation is Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Tiffany-Young and Hauss Funeral Home, 73919 North Avenue, Armada and at church on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to the 11 a.m. Mass.
