Virginia Pecora of Macomb Township died on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at her home at the age of 86 years.
Virginia was born June 16, 1925 in Hamtramck, a daughter of Jacob and Genevieve (nee Czerwinski) Potulski. On May 10, 1947, Virginia married Chester Pecora at St. Florian Catholic Church in Hamtramck. Virginia was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church in Macomb. She had a "green thumb" for gardening and enjoyed crafts, bingo, going to casinos, playing cards and traveling up north. Virginia was the “Slot Goddess” at the casinos.
She is survived by her children, Linda Kozak of Macomb, Lawrence (Victoria) Pecora of Royal Oak and Lauren Pecora of Macomb; grandchildren, Jason (Andrea) Kozak, Kevin Kozak, Alan Pecora and Amy Pecora; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Charlotte Kozak; and sister, Sally (Edward) Lublaneski of Warren. Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Chester on September 2, 1992; her parents; and son-in-law, Gerald Kozak on September 1, 2008.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 18201 23 Mile, Macomb with the Rev. Fr. Mike Hrydziuszko, celebrant. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
Visitation is Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hauss Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb and at church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to the 10 a.m. Mass.
