Salvatore "Sam" Joseph Passalacqua of Macomb Township, formerly of East Detroit, died Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Shelby Nursing Center in Shelby Township at the age of 70 years.
Salvatore was born March 4, 1942 in Detroit, the son of Cruce and Agnes (nee Torrise) Passalacqua. On May 19, 1993, Sam married Paula Monteleone in Mt. Clemens. In 1996, Sam retired from the Ford Chesterfield Plant, where he was a laminator. Sam enjoyed casino trips and watching baseball games, especially because he was a softball and baseball player in the past.
Surviving are his wife, Paula; daughter, Christina (John) Fraleigh of Rochester Hills; sons, Paul Passalacqua of Macomb Township, William Passalacqua of St. Clair Shores, Salvatore (Paula) Passalacqua of Clinton Township, Thomas (Johanna) Passalacqua of Shelby Township and Joseph (Kelly) Passalacqua of Midland; and grandchildren, Mariah, Noah, Paulina, Nico, Tommie, Ty, Drew and Liam. Sam was predeceased by his son, Christopher in 1985 and his parents.
A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Hauss Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb with Chaplain Robert Easlick officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
Visitation is Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
